  The Man, The Myths, The Maths 😯🎓 Pythagoras is often referred to as the first pure mathematician .  He was born on the island of Samos, Greece in 569 BC.  He is a philosopher, polymath and the eponymous founder of Pythagoreanism.  Pythagoras is responsible for several notable scientific and philosophical discoveries, but he is most famous for the Pythagorean Theorem in math. NOTE: I personally wonder, that the word "samosa"  must have been derived from the island name Samos in which Pythagoras was born 😉😅

  Father Of Geometry: The King Of Infinite Space 💫🌠 Euclid was an ancient Greco-Roman mathematician of  300  BCE , Alexandria, Egypt . He was an active geometry and logician . Euclid is best know for his treatise on geometry: The Elements .  This influenced the development of western mathematics for more than 2000 years .

Father Of Algebra 💫🎓 Aryabhatta, an Indian mathematician - astronomer,    was born in the Indian state of Bihar. H e covered a wide range of topics, such as extracting square roots, solving quadratic equations, and predicting eclipses.  He understood the idea of zero and how to employ huge numbers up to 10<sup18.  He was the one who came up with the formula for computing the areas of triangles and circles.  Aryabhatta was awarded the title of ‘ Father Of Algebra ’ because of his remarkable grasp and explanation of planetary systems employing it.  Aryabhatta calculated the value of pi to two decimal places, which was 3.14.

The Man Who Knew Infinity   Ramanujan was  Born on December 22 in Erode, Tamil Nadu. His birth anniversary is observed as National Mathematics Day. He demonstrated an exceptional intuitive grasp of mathematics at a young age. SHARING CHRISTMAS GIFTS         A Christmas gift is  a gift given in celebration of Christmas ,  fostering a sense of community and generosity .  The gifts given are the symbolic representation of the tributes made to the baby Jesus by the three Wise Men after His birth.       We exchanged gifts with our Christmas friends on 22nd December 2023 in our college. A Christmas friend is selected through "random draw" system.  Participants' names are written on slips of paper and placed into a hat or bowl. Each person then draws a name to determine who their Christmas friend will be. This method ensures that the selection is random and fair and  makes sure the names drawn are kept confidential until the gifts are exchanged. My Christmas friend was Sijitha, and Cleo is the one who had my name.  Thus we celebrated that day by changing our gifts Christmas.                     ...
